Arnaut Danjuma set for January transfer window Everton exit amid Hannibal Mejbri hijack update at Manchester United
Arnaut Danjuma’s exit from Everton this month looks to have been virtually confirmed by the club’s last-gasp attempt to land Hannibal Mejbri from Manchester United.
Fabrizio Romano reported on 6 January that the Toffees were looking to hijack the 20-year-old’s loan move to Sevilla at the last minute, with the decision now left in the youngster’s hands.
It would appear that Sean Dyche wants some back-up for Abdoulaye Doucouré’s attacking midfield role, with the Malian’s injury leading to a major drop off in form.

If he is to be able to do that with Mejbri then he will have to get rid of one of his current loanees, as Premier League rules state that no club can have more than two players in the squad on a temporary basis at any one time.
Danjuma has been used at times in the role behind the striker but to little effect, as the Dutchman’s move to Goodison Park has proven a disappointment.
Jack Harrison’s summer loan from Leeds United has already turned out more fruitful despite the Englishman spending a number of weeks to start the season out injured.
So if one is to make way then it is sure to be the Villarreal man, backing up the claim from HITC’s Graeme Bailey that the winger is set to leave for France this month.

Whether Everton are successful in landing Mejbri from Old Trafford or not remains to be seen, but the fact that a source such as Romano is reporting that they are trying to do so suggests the club have made a decision on their current loanee.
Should the Tunisia international come in the hope would clearly be that he has a greater impact than Danjuma has managed in 17 appearances so far this term.
Harrison and Dwight McNeil have kept him out of the side out wide, and even James Garner has been preferred on the right at times, so while Dyche might not be overwhelmed with options it certainly looks more important to find reinforcements for the central attacking midfield role at this stage.
In other Everton news, a club with more money to spend than thought are targeting a “viable” deal for a first-team Toffees man.
