Manchester United want to sign Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite in summer transfer window
Manchester United remain interested in signing Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite this summer as part of a potential double deal, according to Jacque Talbot.
Writing on his personal Twitter account (9 January), the journalist reports that Branthwaite remains a target for the Red Devils after their takeover by INEOS owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
The club are also eyeing a deal for Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise during the summer transfer window, and with Everton’s financial situation a deal could be possible.
“Jarrad Branthwaite and Michael Olise remain summer targets for Man Utd,” he wrote.
Big summer
The upcoming summer window is likely to be one of the biggest and most important in Everton history, because there is so much riding on it.
The club may have new owners by that point, whether it’s 777 Partners or not, and the cub may or may not be in the Premier League anymore.
If they are still in the top flight then the owners will surely look to build upon the squad to move away from relegation battles and push up the table, with new investment hopefully easing the concerns around the club financially.

Should the team get relegated however then there would no doubt be an exodus of talent from Goodison Park ahead of a move to Stanley Moore Dock, and Branthwaite would definitely be one of the most saleable assets.
That could open the door for the likes of Man United to move for him, and the team could be left in a position where they have no choice but to cash in. The next six months are arguably the biggest in the club’s history.
