Alex Crook shares new Everton transfer verdict as Arnaut Danjuma would ‘jump’ at Goodison exit
Alex Crook has shared his verdict on Arnaut Danjuma’s situation at Everton, admitting that the Dutchman would “jump” at the chance to leave Goodison Park in January.
The 26-year-old has been unable to find his feet since moving to Merseyside in the summer, only scoring once in 12 Premier League matches as he has often been left on the substitutes bench by Sean Dyche.
Danjuma is on loan with the Toffees until the end of the season, but talkSPORT’s chief football reporter, Crook, has admitted that the Dutchman would be keen to leave Everton in January, if the Toffees are able to find a replacement.

As quoted by Give Me Sport (10 January) he said: “I think it’s key that Everton want a replacement. He doesn’t really fit into the way that Sean Dyche plays, which makes it a little bit of a strange signing in the first place.
“But I think he felt having pulled out at the last minute in January to go to Tottenham that he almost owed Everton. It’s not worked out at all for him.
“There are clubs in Europe, including Lyon, who are keen to sign him. So if Everton can source a replacement, I think he would gladly jump.”
Get it done
For whatever reason, Danjuma’s move to Goodison Park hasn’t worked out as hoped for all parties. The Dutchman has been unable to hold down a consistent position in Dyche’s side and when he has started he hasn’t had the impact most supporters had hoped for.
Everton aren’t blessed with many prolific forward options and the signing of Danjuma this summer was supposed to solve that problem as most expected the loanee to shoulder the goalscoring burden with Dominic Calvert-Lewin as the Toffees attempted to dodge relegation.

If Danjuma is as keen to get out of Goodison Park as Crook has suggested, it would be best for all if the Toffees allow him to head back to Spain and find a new club elsewhere, as he is bringing little to their side currently.
A replacement, whoever that may be, would likely be a better addition to Dyche’s ranks for the second half of the season and would ensure that the Toffees don’t waste valuable money on a player who doesn’t want to be playing on Merseyside.
