New appeal update as Everton hire ‘Super’ new lawyer in Premier League fight
Everton have added one of the UK’s top lawyers, Laurence Rabinowitz KC, to their legal team for their appeal against the ten-point Premier League deduction, according to Paul Joyce.
The Times journalist reported on 10 January that the decision to hire Rabinowitz, who is regarded as “super silk” demonstrates Everton’s determination to challenge their punishment.
It is also said that the appointment by Everton is regarded as a coup, with the lawyer in “huge demand” as they regard him, alongside Lord Pannick KC, as the best in the UK.

Not going down without a fight
Through the hiring of Rabinowitz, Everton have proved they will not go down without a fight, and are looking to build the best possible case against the Premier League to have their punishment reduced.
That determination and passion is reflected in the fanbase with numerous protests against the Premier League which are still ongoing at every game, with banners being held up reading “Premier League Corrupt” among fans at every league game.
It is important to note that the club confessed to their wrongdoing, and the decision will not be overturned, but they are arguing that the punishment was overly severe compared to their singular breach and looking at least to have the points deduction reduced.

That ten-point deduction in the Premier League has landed Everton in relegation trouble, sitting outside of the bottom three by just one point while Luton Town have a game in hand, making the situation precarious.
In other Everton news, the club want to sign a £20million+ attacker this month.
