Ex-Everton employee: ‘Troublemaker’ Arnaut Danjuma reaches agreement to quit Goodison Park

Goodison News is delighted to welcome aboard our brilliant new columnist Bryan King, the former goalkeeper who spent over eight years as a scout at Everton and 28 years in total in first-team scouting roles. Bryan also spent six years on Tottenham’s recruitment team and 11 years scouting at Aston Villa across two different spells…

Bryan King believes Everton manager Sean Dyche can deal with on-loan man Arnaut Danjuma in one of two ways.

According to Foot Mercato (11 January), the Toffees loanee has reached an agreement to join Ligue 1 club Lyon this month.

The 26-year-old attacker is currently on a season-long loan at the Goodison Park outfit from Spanish outfit Villarreal.

Speaking to Goodison News, King said: “Well this can go two ways really. Sean can either say ‘I’m sorry, but you’re going to finish your loan out,’ or, rather than have somebody walking around the club with a face as though he has lost all his money, he can allow him to leave.

“If Sean brought him in, he must have brought him in for a reason. Maybe other players have now moved ahead of him in the team, but he was given a chance initially by Everton after not doing very well at Villarreal, so he seems a bit of a troublemaker to me.”

Danjuma was given chances to impress under Dyche following his summer arrival, but his minutes have dried up since then.

The winger has made 17 appearances in all competitions for the Toffees, with 12 of those coming in the Premier League.

But the lack of starts and ineffective displays have resulted in just two goals in all competitions, with Danjuma failing to register a single assist.

In other Everton news, a European club has won over a Toffees player who now wants to quit Goodison Park.
