Fabrizio Romano issues medical update on Everton target and Manchester United midfielder Hannibal Mejbri
Fabrizio Romano has issued an update on Manchester United midfielder Hannibal Mejbri who’s been linked with Everton and Chelsea.
The Sky Sports journalist claims that the Dutchman is set for his medical at the La Liga side next week as he’s opted to move there.
Via Twitter, Romano stated that an agreement had been reached with United and despite previous reports of a move to Goodison Park, he will not be moving to Merseyside.
He wrote, “Hannibal Mejbri to Sevilla, here we go! Agreement completed on loan with buy option clause, approved by Man United. Buy back clause also expected to be confirmed as final detail soon. Sevilla already wanted Hannibal last summer, deal finally done. Medical next week.”
Mejbri’s decision to join Sevilla on loan, with a buy option clause and a potential buy-back clause, represents a significant blow for Everton.
The 20-year-old French midfielder has been highly regarded at Manchester United, and the Toffees’ interest highlighted their ambition to secure his services.

Mejbri, known for his exceptional technical skills, vision and ability to control the midfield, would have brought a dynamic and creative dimension to Sean Dyche’s side.
His versatility in playing across different midfield roles would have added depth to the squad, especially considering the injuries and the need for reinforcement.
The young talent’s decision to opt for Sevilla, who have a history of nurturing and developing promising talents, showcases the challenge Everton faces in attracting top talents despite their interest.
For the Toffees, missing out on the 20-year-old means a lost opportunity to inject youthful energy and creativity into their midfield.
They also now face a transfer dilemma as to which midfielder to target as Mejbri appeared to be among the top targets for them.
In other Everton news, a Toffees-linked player is now in advanced talks to secure a move to Sheffield United in the January transfer window.
