Everton transfer news: Sacha Tavolieri shares latest on Arnaut Danjuma to Lyon
A deal that will see Arnaut Danjuma cancel his Everton loan spell and join Lyon is now “imminent”, according to Sacha Tavolieri.
The Belgian journalist added on his Twitter page on Sunday (21 January) that Lyon intend to cancel Diego Moreira’s loan to make space.
Sean Dyche insisted last week that Danjuma would remain part of his plans, but the Villarreal loanee has been frustrated by a lack of starts.
Tavolieri said: “The termination of Diego Moreira’s loan was conditional on the arrival of Arnaut Danjuma at Lyon.
“The imminent arrival of the Dutchman is confirmed.”
Farewell
Danjuma will not exactly be missed at Goodison Park given that he has started just four Premier League games and contributed to one goal.
The Dutchman recently started back-to-back games due to Dwight McNeil’s injury lay-off, only to then be an unused sub again last time out.
Sean Dyche would have rather kept Danjuma than not as he is at least an option fro m the bench, while also providing adequate cover when others are out.
Furthermore, it is unlikely that a replacement will be found on a loan arrangement in the remainder of the January transfer window.
That will leave Everton light in that area for the rest of the season, so it is far from an ideal development.
If Danjuma is eager to move, though, then there is no point in keeping an unsettled player at Finch Farm.
This situation has dragged on for too long now, so it will be nice to at least draw a line under it once Lyon confirm his arrival.
In other Everton news, Fabrizio Romano has reported that a super-rich club want to sign a Toffees player this month.
