Arnaut Danjuma exit deal could go down to the wire as Everton exit talks continue at Goodison Park

Arnaut Danjuma’s exit deal from Everton to Lyon could go down to the wire in the January transfer window, according to L’Equipe.

The publication reported on its website on Wednesday (24 January) that exit talks are continuing at the Goodison Park club.

The 26-year-old attacker is currently on a season-long loan at the Toffees from La Liga outfit Villarreal, with that deal to be cut short if the player moves to France.

On the move?

It does seem likely that Danjuma will leave Merseyside this month, although it also looks likely to go down to the wire.

The January transfer window will come to a close next Thursday (1 February), so there is still time for the clubs to reach an agreement. But that deadline is rapidly approaching, with the attacker still an Everton loanee for the time being.

He has, however, failed to impress during his temporary stay at Goodison Park, with Danjuma scoring just twice from his 18 Everton matches in all competitions, with no assists to his name.

An exit may be the best option for the winger, who admittedly has struggled for game time under Sean Dyche, but perhaps the manager is reluctant to lose any first-team players this month.

Everton

With all the off-field issues at the club, an unsettled squad is the last thing the man in the dugout wants or needs at this moment in time.
