Everton braced as clubs ‘seriously considering’ late January bids to sign Amadou Onana
Everton are braced for late January transfer bids for Amadou Onana, with several clubs seriously considering launching a bid before the deadline, according to TEAMtalk.
The online news source shared on 25 January that Everton have placed a minimum price tag of £50million on Onana, but are likely to demand far more than that price if they are to let him go.
Sean Dyche is said to be extremely reluctant to sell his star player in January, but the financial situation at Goodison Park has made the situation difficult, amid interest from Arsenal, Chelsea and Newcastle.
Everton looking to stand firm
It goes without saying that Everton do not want to lose Onana halfway through the season. The Belgian is seen as a crucial part of their ambitions to stay up despite their ten-point deduction and the impending threat of further penalties for financial breaches.
However, interest from Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Newcastle has ramped up the pressure on the Toffees in their bid to keep Onana at Goodison Park beyond the January transfer window.
A £50million price tag will be the minimum Everton are willing to accept, but even that shouldn’t be on the cards. That price has fluctuated throughout the last month, but bids of around that price are thought to be what it will take to prise him away.

Having brought Onana to the club for £33million in 2022, Dyche will surely be looking to secure a larger return on their investment than just £17million, particularly given the reports of a sell-on fee owed to Lille if they do cash in on him.
