Alex Crook issues Arnaut Danjuma ‘green light’ transfer update as Everton stance shared

Arnaut Danjuma is currently waiting for Everton to terminate his loan move from Villarreal, according to Alex Crook.

The winger is on loan at the Toffees from the Spanish club, having moved to Goodison Park in the summer transfer window.

Crook has explained that the 26-year-old attacker has now agreed a move to Ligue 1 side Lyon, but he needs help from Everton force through the move.

“They definitely want a Danjuma replacement,” Crook told GIVEMESPORT. “He’s agreed a move to Lyon, actually. So that would probably have knock-on effects for Danjuma, but he’s just waiting for the green light from Everton to terminate his loan from Villarreal.

“I think they’re struggling in terms of profit and sustainability, they can’t really afford to pay a big fee. They’ve got obviously a second charge now hanging over their head so I think that’s making it difficult for sure.”

Exit likely

It is looking increasingly likely that Danjuma will leave Goodison Park this month, although the January transfer window deadline is rapidly approaching.

The Toffees only brought the winger to the club in the summer, but so far he has failed to hit the heights expected of him on Merseyside.

The same can perhaps be said of fellow summer arrivals Beto and Youssef Chermiti, but they are seemingly not in danger of an Everton exit anytime soon.

Danjuma’s fellow winger Jack Harrison is at the other end, with the Leeds United loanee certainly doing enough to impress Sean Dyche this season.

The Toffees manager also has the likes of Dwight McNeil and Dominic Calvert-Lewin to call upon in the final third, but it would certainly make sense to bring in a new winger if Danjuma is moving on.

However, that won’t be easy, both with the current financial issue at Goodison Park and indeed the lack of time to do any deal.
