Everton star Amadou Onana makes Newcastle United transfer decision
Everton midfielder Amadou Onana has decided to stay at Goodison Park despite interest shown by Newcastle, according to DH Les Sports.
The Belgian news outlet reported on 26 January that he wants to continue the fight on Merseyside and help the Toffees survive relegation this season.
The 22-year-old told the same publication back in November that he has no plans to leave and they have verified that with just days left for the window to shut.
Good news
There is no way Everton should consider letting go of the Belgium international in January.
When fit, he is among the first names on the team sheet for Sean Dyche and the manager cannot afford to lose out on his services.
It remains to be seen what happens in the summer, but given the club’s precarious situation, it’s best that he ends up staying at Goodison Park.
He is arguably the most valuable asset at the club and while his sale could rake in a lot of money, Dyche’s primary job is to survive.
Rather than selling Onana and bringing in two half-decent midfielders, the Everton boss is likely to fight tooth and nail to retain the 22-year-old’s services.

It’s good to see that the player himself is not showing any real inclinations towards leaving the club so there’s unlikely to be any behind-the-scenes chaos.
He will be aware of the challenges going on with regard to the new owners and how Dyche has navigated his way out of the relegation zone despite a 10-point deduction and will have been inclined to stay put.
