Bryan King blasts Everton transfer policy in ‘biggest losers’ verdict amid Ben Godfrey exit news
Goodison News is delighted to welcome aboard our brilliant new columnist Bryan King, the former goalkeeper who spent over eight years as a scout at Everton and 28 years in total in first-team scouting roles. Bryan also spent six years on Tottenham’s recruitment team and 11 years scouting at Aston Villa across two different spells…
Bryan King believes Everton have been one of the “biggest losers” in money loss from transfers in recent times.
The verdict comes amid the rumours linking Toffees central defender Ben Godfrey with a move to Italian outfit Genoa.
The Serie A club are under the 777 Partners umbrella, with the US investment firm currently trying to complete a takeover of Everton.
Speaking to Goodison News, King said: “The deal for the club hasn’t been done yet. It sounds like something to appease the supporters.
“I would have thought the first thing they would have wanted to get over the line was the actual deal for the club. There is a question mark over that still.
“You’re taking a player over from a club you’re going to buy to a club you already own, and I can’t imagine the fee being more than £5million or £6million.

“Everton have been one of the biggest losers in money loss from transfers. They have lost over £200million on transfers. In the list of clubs who have lost the most money on transfer dealings, I think Everton are eighth out of 10.”
In other Everton news, the Toffees are “huge fans” of one Leicester City star as a late January development emerges.
