Neil Moxley gutted for Dele Alli after Everton development – ‘such a shame’

Neil Moxley has been left gutted for Dele Alli after a fresh development has emerged on the midfielder at Everton.

Writing on page 63 of the Sunday People’s print edition on 28 January, the journalist said it’s “such a shame” for the 27-year-old after Sean Dyche revealed on 25 January that he’s undergone groin surgery following a setback in his return to action.

Moxley added that the Englishman should be turning youthful promise into a “tangible return” with the Toffees, but that he can’t catch a break or generate one at Goodison Park.

Disappointing

It’s incredibly disappointing news for Alli as it looked like he was working hard behind the scenes to get back to full fitness after all he’s been through.

This latest update is going to see him miss a substantial amount of time, with no time scale on when he could wear the Everton shirt again.

It’s also a blow for Dyche because he was hoping to be able to call upon the midfielder again this month, having not played any competitive football since picking up a hip injury while on loan at Besiktas.

It’s now going to be another period of rehab for the 37-cap England international, but he will have plenty of support from everyone involved with the club.

It’s going to be a bit longer before he can wear the Blues shirt again, but he will no doubt be driven to ensure that does happen as soon as possible.

In other Everton news, red tape has emerged on one player’s potential Goodison exit this month.
