Everton transfer news as loan moves update drops ahead of January deadline
Everton are searching for “doable” loan deals ahead of the closing of the transfer window on 1 February, according to Harry Watkinson.
The TEAMtalk journalist reported via X [29 January] that the reality of the financial situation at the club means that temporary moves are being looked at.
Everton are yet to make any deals this month, with outgoings at Goodison much more likely to happen, with Jarrad Branthwaite, Amadou Onana and Ben Godfrey all linked with moves away.
Work with what you’ve got
There is no doubt that Everton are capable of surviving the threat of relegation this season, as they have done so dramatically in the last two seasons.
With Sean Dyche holding the reins, and his squad including a handful of potential world-beaters, the Toffees are certainly able to avoid being exiled from the league, even despite their 10-point deduction.
However, Everton will need to start picking points up again after an incredible run of games was brought to a halt and started to rot. They are without a league win since a 2-0 victory over Burnley in mid-December.

An injury to Abdoulaye Doucoure has proven detrimental at Goodison Park, with Everton failing to perform without him on the pitch, suffering losses to Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Wolves, plus a draw with Aston Villa.
Without the Premier League’s punishment for a Profit and Sustainability breach, the Toffees would currently be sitting in 12th place, but instead are one point ahead of fellow strugglers Luton Town.
In other Everton news, the Toffees are “huge fans” of one Leicester City star as a late January development emerges.
