Everton transfer news as Said Benrahma update emerges from Goodison Park

Sources have shared that Everton have no interest in signing West Ham winger Said Benrahma before the February 1 deadline, according to Harry Watkinson.

The TEAMtalk journalist reported [29 January] that the links to the Algerian winger are wide of the mark, with a quiet end to the window still expected at Goodison Park.

The Hammers outcast has been the subject of a potential transfer move from London Stadium this month, with the player initially linked with a move to Everton by HITC.

It’s a shame

Potential interest in Benrahma would certainly make sense for Sean Dyche, depending on any expected fee and whether West Ham would rather a permanent or loan move.

Other than Jack Harrison and Dwight McNeil, Dyche is somewhat light in the winger department, with the unsettled Arnaut Danjuma the only real replacement for the position. However, he is likely to cut his loan deal short.

28-year-old Benrahma has been a diligent servant in his time at West Ham, registering 24 goals and 19 assists in 155 appearances since arriving at the club from Brentford.

His maturity and experience on the wing could have been a real plus for Dyche and his team but FFP worries need to be considered once again with any potential incomings.

Everton are more than capable of surviving relegation with their current squad and the current manager, even despite the 10-point deduction earlier this season. It is just the constant worry of injuries that could wreak havoc on the Toffees’ season.

In other Everton news, the Toffees are “huge fans” of one Leicester City star as a late January development emerges.
