Everton: Alan Myers issues 777 Partners takeover update at Goodison Park as appeal timeline emerges

Alan Myers says he does not expect 777 Partners to complete its takeover of Everton “for a few weeks”.

The Sky Sports journalist broke the news on Tuesday (30 January) that Everton’s 10-point deduction appeal is to be heard in full this week.

Myers added on his personal Twitter page [30 January] that February will be the “most defining” month for the Toffees in a long time.

Asked if he expects 777 to finalise a deal to purchase the club during that timeframe, Myers said: “I don’t expect that for a few weeks now.”

The wait goes on

To say Everton are in for a hectic finale to the conclusion both on and off the field is an understatement.

While Sean Dyche battles to turn results around on the field, there are also points to be ‘won’ in the court room.

We now know that Everton will find out in the next couple of weeks whether the 10-point deduction – or part of it – still stands.

There is then the small matter of the second PSR charge, which may drag on until after the season concludes.

Then we have the whole takeover situation, which has dragged on for a number of months and is not close to concluding any time soon.

All that matters come the end of all this is that, first and foremost Everton are financially stable, while also remaining a Premier League club.

The alternative does not really bear thinking about right now.

In other Everton news, a European club is reportedly in panic mode as they attempt to sign a Toffees player.
