Norwich City ace Jonathan Rowe makes Lazio transfer call amid reported Everton interest
Jonathan Rowe turned down a January move to Lazio because he would prefer to play in the Premier League amid interest from Everton, according to La Lazio Siamo Noi.
The Italian outlet reported on its website on Monday (29 January) that the 20-year-old Norwich City winger doesn’t want to move to Italy this month and would instead like to make the switch to the Premier League, either at the end of the season in the final stages of January.
Everton are one of a number of Premier League clubs monitoring Rowe’s current situation at Carrow Road, alongside West Ham United, Brighton and Aston Villa. The vast interest from England’s top flight helped the Championship star come to his decision.
A move could be on
It seems unlikely that Everton will be able to add to their squad immensely during the January transfer window, with funds at Goodison Park incredibly limited as the Toffees attempt to remain within the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules.
However, that doesn’t mean that a move for Rowe will be completely out of the question, as a lot could have changes come the end of the season should the 20-year-old remain at Carrow Road for the next six months.

If Everton have finally seen a change of ownership while also maintaining their place in the Premier League, Sean Dyche’s side may then have the capacity to tempt Rowe to make the trip to Merseyside ahead of any of their Premier League rivals.
Of course, all of this could change in the final days of the transfer window and a last-gasp transfer cannot yet be ruled out, but it certainly seems as though Everton are in with a chance of getting their man at some point.
