Everton transfer news as Sean Dyche chases last-gasp Deadline Day forward loan

Paul Brown has suggested that Everton are continuing to chase a last-gasp loan deal for a new forward in the final stages of the transfer window.

The Toffees are yet to make a senior addition to Sean Dyche’s squad during the January transfer window, with financial fair play concerns and the impending takeover from 777 Partners limiting the club’s ability to do late business.

However, freelance journalist Brown has suggested that Everton are still pushing to complete some last-minute business this month, however, he does admit the chances of a new arrival are receding with each minute.

As quoted by Give Me Sport (1 February) he said: “Everton are still trying to do some business. They’ve been trying to get a loan forward in for quite some time but haven’t managed to get very far down the line with any of the targets they were going for.

“There is still an outside chance they manage to do something before the close of the window, but I think the chances of that are probably receding.

“I think Everton would have liked to bring some money in this window too, but the problem for Sean Dyche is that his squad is quite stretched at the minute.”

Don’t lose hope

It may seem slightly grim and miserable at Goodison Park at the moment, but it does seem as though Dyche and his recruitment team on the blue half of Merseyside are still pushing to do some last-minute business.

The Toffees could do with bolstering their ranks in attack before the window is out, especially with Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s indifferent form so far this season, particularly in front of goal.

Everton

A consistent number nine would massively help Everton’s chances of avoiding the drop to the Championship this season, but it remains to be seen whether or not the Toffees can get an incoming over the line.

Hopefully, something changes quickly to boost the chances of a new arrival before the window shuts on Thursday evening.
