Everton: Appeal Barrister seen in stands at Goodison Park v Tottenham
Everton appeal barrister Laurence Rabinowitz has been spotted in the stands ahead of their Premier League clash against Tottenham, according to Joe Thomas.
The Toffees were docked 10 points earlier this season for breaching profit and sustainability rules but immediately launched an appeal against the severity of the punishment.
The appeal verdict has been heard this week (Liverpool ECHO, 30 January) with an outcome expected to be announced by the middle of February (Sky Sports, 31 January).
Rabinowitz has now seemingly emerged at Goodison Park ahead of a game at which fans protested outside the stadium.
Everton vs Premier League battle well and truly on
Everton supporters have made their feelings known against the Premier League this season as they feel the governing body has treated the Toffees unfairly when it comes to their judgements this term, with the impact stretching beyond just this term.
They are certainly well within their right to protest and the fact that Rabinowitz has now been seen at the ground certainly suggests that an outcome could well be close.
There may not be any acknowledgement about the breaches from Everton supporters but their point has mostly been about the fact they don’t feel like the punishment they have received fits the crime they have been alleged to have committed.
To receive two punishments in quick succession certainly suggests an agenda could be going on against the football club and the Toffees will certainly be ready to fight tooth and nail with the league to protest their innocence.
The sight of the appeal barrister certainly points to that fact.
