Everton Premier League protest planned for Tottenham showdown at Goodison Park

Everton supporters have planned a new protest against the Premier League ahead of their clash with Tottenham Hotspur, according to the Liverpool Echo.

The outlet reported on its website on Saturday (3 February) that supporters are set to turn Goodison Park into a sea of yellow by holding up posters with the Premier League logo and the phrase “you don’t know what you’re doing” printed on them.

Such posters will be handed out to fans on their way into the ground on Saturday, with the game being televised by TNT Sport.

This protest is the third from Toffees fans with the original two coming after they were charged with breaches of the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules.

Everton against the Premier League

Everton supporters have made their feelings known against the Premier League this season as they feel the governing body has treated the Toffees unfairly when it comes to their punishments this term.

Both Sean Dyche’s side and Nottingham Forest have been charged with breaches of the league’s financial fair play rules while Manchester City have remained unpunished for multiple similar issues on a much larger scale.

There has been very little argument from Everton supporters that their club didn’t breach the division’s regulations, instead, their point has mostly been about the fact they don’t feel like the punishment they have received fits the crime they have been alleged to have committed.

All of this has been ongoing while the Blues await the approval of their takeover from 777 Partners, with constant new loans required to keep Everton’s head above the water. It just feels like the footballing world is against Everton at the moment and is good to see the supporters taking a stand.
