Richarlison ‘devastated’ after what Tottenham star was accused of doing v Everton
Tim Sherwood has slammed Richarlison for his lack of celebration following his two goals for Tottenham against Everton on Saturday (3 February).
Speaking on Premier League Productions on Saturday (01:30pm, via HITC), the Sky Sports pundit said the Brazilian international looked “devastated” after registering a first-half brace at Goodison Park.
He added that the 26-year-old forward should “stop scoring goals” if he feels “that bad about it”, with a late equaliser from Jarrad Branthwaite securing the Toffees a point in the 2-2 draw.
“If he didn’t celebrate the first one, surely he has to put a smile on his face for his second goal,” said Sherwood. “If you feel that bad about it, then stop scoring goals. Look at him, he’s devastated. You can’t be devastated.”
Richarlison has respect for Everton fans
It’s pretty clear from Richarlison’s lack of celebration that he still has a lot of time and respect for the Everton fans despite leaving the club for Tottenham 18 months ago.
He put in a number of excellent performances for the Toffees during his four years at Goodison Park before deciding he wanted to move on in a big-money deal.
It’s his right to celebrate those goals how he wants to and, in this instance, he decided to show very little emotion after scoring either of them.

It’s not for Sherwood to decide what the Brazilian should do in those instances, just because he perhaps would’ve acted differently in that situation.
It isn’t as though he didn’t do his all to help Spurs win the game, so on this occasion, the forward deserves to be cut a little bit of slack.
