Ally McCoist shares new Everton relegation prediction live on talkSPORT
Ally McCoist has praised the Everton players for their spirit and the fans for the atmosphere they generated in the draw against Tottenham.
Speaking on talkSPORT on Monday (5 February, 07:29am), the pundit said the Toffees were “fighting for their lives” to beat relegation from the Premier League, with Jarrad Branthwaite’s injury-time equaliser earning them a 2-2 draw against Spurs on Saturday (3 February).
But he believes Crystal Palace could be in a “whole lot of trouble” if they lose two of their upcoming matches against the Blues and second-bottom Burnley as they are “devoid of any attacking talent” without the injured Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise.
“You’ve got to look at them and their performances without Eze and Olise, they are a team devoid of any attacking talent in forward areas,” said McCoist on Crystal Palace.
“They’ve got results at home, but if they lose those two games against an Everton side, who I saw are the weekend, are fighting for their lives. That fanbase, the atmosphere inside that place in the last 10, 15 minutes.
“You look at Burnley, 2-0 down, finish 2-2. You look at teams like Luton drawing 4-4. I think Crystal Palace if they are not very careful could be in a whole lot of trouble.”
Everton players have the quality to beat the drop
There is more than enough quality in the Everton side to be the drop after they’ve already put in a number of excellent performances this season.
There will be some concern around the club and the fans that they are now in the bottom three, but they would be well clear of the relegation zone had it not been for the 10-point deduction for breaching the Premier League’s spending rules.
The outcome of their appeal and the result of the second charge they were recently hit with are likely to play a major role in which division the Toffees will be playing in next season.

But all Sean Dyche and the players can continue to do is work hard and take care of matters on the field, with the Blues fans certain to get right behind them until the very end.
The more teams that can get drawn into the scrap the better for the Merseysiders as they should be confident that they have what it takes to remain in the top flight beyond this season.
