Abdoulaye Doucoure, Arnaut Danjuma, Andre Gomes ruled out – Confirmed Everton team news v Manchester City
Sean Dyche has confirmed that Everton will be without several senior players for the trip to Manchester City in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
The Toffees head to the home of the champions for a huge clash as they look to move out of the relegation zone, but face a huge task with Pep Guardiola’s side in fantastic form as they chase yet another title.
But the visitors will be without Abdoulaye Doucoure, Arnaut Danjuma, Andre Gomes and Dele Alli for the game, while Amadou Onana has returned to training but a decision hasn’t been made yet on if he will play.
“Not Douc, not Danjuma, not Andre Gomes,” he said in his pre-match press conference (8 February). “He won’t be back. On a better note Youngy continues to get stronger, Seamus [Coleman] will have a full week of training.
“Onana was back on the grass today and the team will be picked accordingly. Doucoure is back on the grass, not with us, but he’s out there and he’s making good progress.”
Everton must get back to winning ways in the Premier League
There may not be a more difficult thing to do in world football than go to the Etihad Stadium and beat Manchester City, but Everton need to find a way.
It’s now six games in the Premier League since Sean Dyche’s team tasted victory, with three consecutive draws meaning they have fallen into the relegation zone due to the ten point deduction.

While there is an appeal process ongoing for that to be given back, the club can’t rely on that to get out of the position they’re in and they simply need to start getting results.
The team news from Dyche is positive here and the club will know that defensively they are in a good place with Jordan Pickford having the most clean sheets in the division this season, but that isn’t enough right now. Goals are needed.
Big performances are needed, along with a little bit of luck and the team will be fine. But the players have to be ready to work hard and push their limits to get a big result.
