Pep Guardiola responds to Everton and Manchester City PSR point raised by Sean Dyche
Pep Guardiola was asked once again about the charges Manchester City are facing following comments made by Everton boss Sean Dyche.
The two sides meet at the Etihad Stadium for Saturday’s (10 February) early Premier League kick-off.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference on Friday (9 February), Dyche seemed to question why City’s case is taking so long to be heard.
“We are all wondering what makes one rule for one and one rule for the other,” he said, as per the Liverpool Echo [9 February].
Man City boss Guardiola was later asked about his side’s 115 breaches at his own presser.
“I know my opinion,” he said, as per The Independent [9 February]. “I’ve spoken many times. I don’t have anything else to add. We wait.”
Man City’s trial date set
Not only have Everton been docked 10 points already this season, they also face a second possible PSR charge before the season ends.
Incredibly, that second case could be concluded, along with any appeals, months in advance of City’s case even making it to court.
It has been suggested that City’s case will be heard in late Autumn time and a verdict may not be delivered until well into 2025.
The point has been made that the Citizens’ case is more wide-ranging than Everton’s – fair enough – but the amount of time it is taking is pretty staggering.

Everton fans will also be curious to see if City are docked any points for their supposed breaches, and if so just how many will it be?
Guardiola is probably sick of responding to these questions, in fairness, but they will continue to be asked until the case is finally heard.
Everton supporters will be watching closely whenever that may be.
