Everton star Amadou Onana must rethink on-field antics as ‘worst offender’ statistic emerges
Everton have a huge mountain to climb in the coming months as they look to distance themselves from the Premier League relegation zone.
The Goodison Park club currently occupy 18th spot in the table, and have another financial fair play charge hanging over them after already being deducted 10 points this season.
Another deduction would more than likely push them over the edge, but that shouldn’t stop the players from giving it their all for manager Sean Dyche.
The man in the dugout has done an admirable job on Merseyside, even if his old-school tactics aren’t exactly up to date with the modern game.
Dyche can, however, say that he has conducted his team to be honest and respectful, with Everton right down towards the bottom of the lists when it comes to yellow cards for both dissent and time wasting this season.
As per Opta Analyst (9 February), the Toffees have been handed nine yellow cards in the 2023/24 Premier League campaign for the former, and four for the latter.
However, when it comes to time wasting, there is only one culprit in blue, with Amadou Onana the “worst offender” in the entire league, with the midfielder responsible for all four of his club’s bookings.

As per Opta Analyst, the Premier League, EFL, the FA and PGMOL are now eager to clamp down on such offences, with Dyche certainly not needing any unnecessary cautions for Onana or indeed any of his players if and when any punishments are introduced.
