Everton to sell ‘sneaky’ Neal Maupay as fall-out speculated with Goodison teammates
Everton will move Neal Maupay on in the summer transfer window, according to former Everton scout Bryan King.
The striker is currently on a season-long loan at Brentford, where he has scored five Premier League goals in the current campaign.
Former Toffees manager Frank Lampard brought Maupay to Goodison Park [official Everton website, 26 August 2022], with Dyche loaning him out.
Will Everton sell Neal Maupay?
Maupay was in the thick of the action against Tottenham recently after a scuffle with James Maddison, while he was also involved in a tussle with Kyle Walker against Manchester City on Monday (5 February).
Discussing if Maupay will be moved on by the Toffees in the summer, King told Goodison News: “Oh yeah. I liked him when he moved to Goodison, because he had pace, but he was overpriced.
“You’re going to get it all the time, even going back to my day, players used to talk to other players they knew they could wind up.

“But he seems sneaky to me. Something obviously went wrong for him at Goodison, that’s for sure. I wouldn’t be surprised if fell out with a couple of players at Everton, which caused the move. Dyche doesn’t like him, he didn’t buy him. Lampard’s recruitment record was shocking.”
In stark contrast to his time at Goodison Park, Maupay has impressed during his two different spells in West London, with the forward approaching the 50-goal mark for the Bees.
