Everton v Crystal Palace: Ashley Young to be axed after Manchester City display

Sean Dyche must be ruthless and axe Ashley Young for the Everton v Crystal Palace game after his performance v Manchester City.

The Toffees play host to Crystal Palace on Monday, 19 February and Dyche will be keen on getting them back to winning ways.

They lost their last Premier League game 2-0 to Manchester City and Young had a pretty terrible game with Dyche taking him off in the 78th minute.

Should Abdoulaye Doucoure be fit enough for this one, Jack Harrison could revert to his position on the right wing.

Ashley Young has been a liability for Everton

According to Sofascore, he had a dismal pass accuracy of 55 per cent against City and could only complete six passes in the time he was on the field of play.

Apart from that, he had a zero per cent accuracy rate with his crosses, failing to complete both of his attempts.

He even struggled to complete any take-on and did not get past his man on the two occasions he attempted to and in fact, got dribbled past once himself.

Defensively too, the 38-year-old proved to be a liability, losing four of five of his attempted ground duels.

Sean Dyche acting stubborn

This season, Young has been tried as a right-back and failed and it’s evident that he’s not got the legs to play as a winger anymore.

Dyche needs to stop being so stubborn with him and hopefully, put Harrison back in a position in which he can thrive.
