Everton: Alan Stubbs cannot believe what’s happened as Goodison appeal verdict shared
Alan Stubbs has admitted that he is “sick” of how long the process has gone on over the Everton appeal to their 10-point deduction.
Speaking on the BBC’s The Football News Show on Friday (16 February, via BBC Sport), the pundit said there was “a lot of bewilderment” within the footballing world when the Toffees were handed their points deduction, with the ruling causing a lot of “anger and animosity” among the club’s fans.
He added that the supporters are “sick of how long it’s getting dragged on” as there is still no news on their appeal despite being told it would be made by the middle of February.
“There was a lot of bewilderment from a lot of people within football and outside when the initial penalty of 10 points was given,” said Stubbs.
“From Everton fans there was a lot of anger and animosity. Realistically we as Everton fans are sick of it. We’re sick of how long it’s getting dragged on. It’s a prolonged process.
“We were told it was going to be the middle of February, and then Wednesday or today, but there is still no news.”
Everton fans deserve answers
The Everton fans undoubtedly deserve to know what is happening at their club and whether or not the appeal has been successful over the 10-point deduction.
While the Toffees’ hierarchy may have done wrong, it’s the supporters who are most likely to suffer in the long run as they are the ones who will have to pick up the pieces if things don’t go their way this season.
The appeal verdict could play a crucial role in deciding whether or not they will still be in the Premier League next season as they currently find themselves in the relegation zone.

The uncertainty around their future is not healthy for anyone and there is no reason why this process has gone on for so long already.
There should be answers provided in the next few days, but the Blues fans will be desperately hoping it goes their way after what they’ve been through over the past few years.
In other Everton news, the Toffees have postponed contract talks with a star player.
