Everton: Sky Sports pundit wowed by what Jack Harrison did in draw v Crystal Palace at Goodison
Alan Smith was wowed by what Jack Harrison did in the second half of the Everton draw against Crystal Palace on Monday (19 February).
Speaking on co-commentary on Sky Sports Main Event (09:47pm), the pundit said it was “absolutely outstanding” from the 27-year-old winger as he sent an inviting cross into the box after coming off the bench.
He added that the ball in deserved a Toffees player to get on the end of it as they played out a 2-2 draw at Goodison Park.
“We’ve seen some crosses tonight, but this is the best of the bunch,” said Smith. “It’s brilliant from Harrison on the run, absolutely outstanding. It deserved a blue-shirted player getting on the end of that absolute beauty.”
Jack Harrison had to start for Everton against Crystal Palace
It was a strange decision from Sean Dyche to start Ashley Young ahead of Harrison as the winger dropped to the bench against Palace.
That was to make way for the returning Abdoulaye Doucoure, with Young lining up on the right wing at Goodison instead of his teammate.
Harrison came on for the 38-year-old midway through the second half and provided energy as he helped the Toffees get back into the game and earn a point through Amadou Onana’s equaliser.

There is a good chance the loanee could have played himself back into the starting lineup as he possesses plenty of quality and is much more of an attacking threat.
Sean Dyche will have been hoping to pick up three points against the Eagles, but he will be pleased by his side’s response to going behind and the fact they didn’t lose the game.
