Everton takeover news: 777 Partners could destroy club in Premier League message

Martin Calladine has suggested that 777 Partners could destroy Everton if their takeover is approved by the Premier League following several red flags.

The football author has insisted that the constant stories coming out surrounding 777 are what you’d expect to see from a business which is spinning out of control.

Calladine went on to claim that, if the takeover is given the green light, it will be a monumental failure, saying the group should not be allowed to own a Premier League football club.

Writing in a new message via X, he shared: “An ownership group that is so financially strapped that it cannot pay wages on time, or so careless of its legal obligations that it chooses not to, is a group that cannot be allowed to take over a Premier League club.

“The red flag stories that have come out about 777 in the past six months are the kind you expect to see when a business empire is spinning out of control and liable to destroy any club it owns.

“To see them before a deal, and still green light it, would be a monumental failure.”

Will 777 Partners complete their takeover of Everton?

Calladine is right – the seemingly endless number of concerns emerging about 777 and its other business ventures should be taken as a huge red flag by Everton and the Premier League.

Simon Jordan recently spoke out against the takeover, insisting that fans should be worried if they are taken over by 777 Partners, as they will be thrown out of the frying pan and into the fire.

With the group still awaiting a verdict from the Premier League on whether they will be fit to purchase Everton, all signs point to that outcome being a negative one as far as the group are concerned.

Damning verdicts from both Jordan and Calladine should serve as further warnings to the Premier League about the eligibility of 777, although questions will remain about any alternatives should this takeover fall through.

With the appeal and everything else going on at Goodison Park right now, the constant stream of negative news on 777 is simply not helping anybody.
