Everton appeal news: Joe Anderson fires Premier League and review panel accusation
Joe Anderson has hit out at the three-member panel reviewing the Premier League’s decision to deduct 10 points from Everton earlier this season.
The former Mayor of Liverpool has accused the panel of “colluding” with the Premier League, with no decision yet made on the club’s appeal, leading to more “uncertainty and damage”.
The Toffees have been left in the dark over their appeal of the 10-point deduction, with Sean Dyche’s side dangling above Luton Town, who are only in the relegation zone on goal difference.
Taking to X on Thursday (22 February), Anderson wrote: “It is inconceivable that the three-member panel reviewing the Premier League’s decision to deduct 10 points from Everton have not reached a conclusion.
“We can therefore conclude that they are colluding with the PL allowing the uncertainty & damage to continue.”
Are the Premier League working against Everton?
It is certainly understandable why many Everton fans feel hard done by when it comes to the Premier League’s treatment of the club, with everyone being kept in the dark amid the situation.
The argument always comes back round to Manchester City and their 115 charges, with no update on that despite the original charges emerging months ago.
However, even those focusing solely on the Toffees, are growing worried about the detrimental effect this wait could have at Goodison Park, who are being threatened by the risk of relegation for the third successive season.
Everton need to discover the outcome of their appeal sooner rather than later, with the anxious wait from the three-member panel causing more problems than they are attempting to fix, or keep in line.
Frustration at Goodison Park will just continue to build while the wait continues, and the current silence from the panel is almost deafening, with fans questioning every day when an update will emerge.
