Everton: Jim White takes swipe at Simon Jordan over Goodison appeal outcome as tempers flare
Jim White has taken a swipe at Simon Jordan live on air when discussing Everton as the Toffees continue to wait to learn the outcome of their appeal.
Sean Dyche’s side have appealed against the 10-point deduction they received for breaching the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules, but despite the hearing finishing at the start of this month, no outcome has yet been revealed.
While Jordan believes it is acceptable that the independent commission is taking its time to announce its decision, White has slammed the delay, suggesting the Premier League are “not reinventing the wheel”.
Speaking on talkSPORT on Thursday (22 February, 11:06) he said: “The outcome of the appeal will now be known, correct? It will be known by those who have come to the decision, surely?
“We’re not reinventing the wheel are we Simon? They either reduce it or they don’t and they have had a considerable period of time to do it.”
Jordan hit back saying: “I don’t know, I’m not in the circulation. When was the appeal heard, January? We’re in the third week of February now. Most situations like this would be dealt with and circulated within a month and that’s probably what will happen.”
White responded saying: “Is there much to debate? I don’t think so.”
When will Everton learn the result of their appeal?
Everton and their supporters have been left in the dark for far too long over this points deduction and it doesn’t benefit any party involved if the independent commission continues to drag out their decision-making process for even longer.
The Toffees are in the midst of a relegation battle and it would be a huge boost to Dyche’s side’s survival effort if they were given back just a couple of the initial 10 points that they were deducted for their first charge.

On top of that, there is the fact that there is a second charge looming over Goodison Park which cannot be heard until the appeal process is concluded on the first breach. Everton could be facing another huge deduction straight away.
Some clarity is needed on the blue half of Merseyside sooner rather than later, otherwise the Toffees could continue to coast towards the Championship and lose their Premier League status.
