Everton: Legal Chief responds to direct 777 Partners takeover question in new update
Everton Chief Legal Counsel and Company Secretary Katie Charles has shared that the 777 Partners takeover deal is continuing to make progress.
Charles was asked directly by the Fan Advisory Board in a meeting on 22 February, as she shared that, as far as she is aware, 777 have provided all relevant documents to the Premier League.
This comes after Premier League CEO Richard Masters claimed possible delays in the process could be a result of the group not providing everything they had been requested to show.
As detailed by a document from the FAB: “KC confirmed that this is a matter between 777 and the Premier League.
“As far as KC was aware 777 had responded to all of the requests for information from the regulatory authorities and that the process for the change of ownership to 777 was progressing.”
Will 777 Partners complete their Everton takeover?
With talks now said to be progressing, and 777 having provided all of the documents requested by the Premier League, there appears to be no reason for any further delay – hinting substantial news could be on the way soon.
However, several concerns have been raised during the process which, regardless of the eventual outcome of the owners and directors test, fans should be aware of.
Author Martin Calladine went as far as to suggest the group could destroy Everton, in a worrying verdict shared as he emplored the Premier League not to approve 777 Partners’ takeover of the club.
The seemingly endless number of concerns emerging about 777 and its other business ventures should be taken as a huge red flag by Everton and the Premier League.
However, after the update from Charles, it appears the takeover is edging closer to completion. Whether that is a positive or negative for the club remains up for debate.
