Everton takeover: 777 Partners hopes fading of Premier League decision in February

777 Partners’ hopes are fading that they will get an answer from the Premier League about their Everton takeover this month, according to Liverpool Echo.

Writing on their website (21 February), the news outlet report that the club and Miami-based investors had initially expected an answer from the Premier League this month.

However the top flight asked more questions last week and a decision now seems more likely to come in March, leaving everyone waiting even longer than they want to.

“Prospective Everton owners 777 Partners remain unsure when they will be informed of the result of the Premier League’s owners and directors test, with hopes of a decision before the end of February fading.

“There was hope that the Premier League would reach a decision by the end of February, but that now looks likely to move over into March, with sources stating that further questions were asked by the Premier League of 777 last week.”

The Premier League are mocking Everton

At this point the Premier League are just mocking Everton and the fans with this situation, and prolonging it to hurt the club more and more.

Manchester United announced a deal had been agreed between the Glazers and Sir Jim Ratcliffe on Christmas Eve and it has already been formally completed, but this deal was announced back in September and is still awaiting authorisation.

If The Premier League have got so many questions for 777 Partners that can’t be answered then they should just stop the group from buying the club so the Toffees and Farhad Moshiri can work on finding a new buyer.

Josh Wander and 777 Partners’ wait to complete the takeover of Everton goes on.

Giving them more time to come up with answers that are deemed acceptable just makes a joke of the entire process.

It’s an absolute joke that it’s taking this long and the fact it’s now likely to be delayed even further tells you all you need to know about the way the Premier League is being run.
