Everton v Brighton team news: Sean Dyche shares Abdoulaye Doucoure update

Sean Dyche will be desperate to get back to winning ways when his Everton side takes on Brighton on Saturday, 24 February.

Dele Alli is already ruled out and unlikely to return soon while Arnaut Danjuma and Andre Gomes are also doubts for this one.

Abdoulaye Doucoure and Seamus Coleman are expected to be available for the game.

BBC quoted Dyche and wrote: “Dyche says Seamus Coleman is back at Finch Farm today while Danjuma and Gomes are “working hard to get fit” while Abdoulaye Doucoure has not suffered any reaction after Monday’s draw against #CPFC.”

Everton have to get at least a draw v Brighton

For Everton, securing points against Brighton is crucial as they strive to avoid relegation, especially considering their recent struggles with only one win in their last 12 matches across all competitions.

With just goal difference separating them from the relegation zone, every point becomes vital in their battle for survival.

However, the task ahead is daunting and despite Everton’s historically strong away form this season and their relatively decent record against Brighton in recent encounters, they are facing a team in good form, particularly at home.

The Seagulls have been formidable at the Amex Stadium, losing only one Premier League game there all season and remaining unbeaten in their last 11 home matches across all competitions.

Moreover, Everton’s own inconsistency and lack of wins in recent times underscore the challenges they face in securing points away from home.

This, coupled with the pressure of their precarious league position and their being in the dark with their appeal, makes the task of earning points against Brighton a daunting one for the Toffees.
