Everton: Richard Keys laughs at Jordan Pickford incident in draw v Brighton and Hove Albion
Richard Keys finds it “funny” that Jordan Pickford is quick enough to shout at his Everton team-mates but is guilty of making errors of his own.
Pickford was fortunate to avoid conceding during the first half of Saturday’s (24 February) 1-1 draw at the Amex Stadium after coming way off his line.
Brighton were unable to make the most of the opportunity as Danny Welbeck ran the ball out of play after knocking it past Pickford.
Speaking on beIN SPORTS [24 February, 4:02pm], Keys said: “It’s funny. When someone makes a defensive mistake, goalkeepers go potty, and yet…”
Everton denied by late Brighton equaliser at Amex
Pickford was left in no man’s land when coming out of his box in an attempt to intercept a pass through the middle.
Welbeck got between two Everton defenders and completely took Pickford out of the game, but Welbeck’s touch was too heavy.
Pickford is indeed quick enough to have a pop at his colleagues, but that is just his personality and what has made him a fan favourite.

The Everton stopper was moments away from keeping a valuable shutout on the South Coast, only for Lewis Dunk to pop up in the 94th minute.
A 1-1 draw for the Toffees is certainly not a terrible result, but it does feel like an opportunity missed against the 10 men of Brighton.
It means Everton remain in relegation trouble, and they are going to need Pickford on top of his game if they are to fight themselves out of it.
In other Everton news, the Toffees are reportedly close to making a decision on Jarrad Branthwaite’s future.
