Barcelona transfer twist emerges in pursuit of Everton midfielder Amadou Onana
Barcelona will find it more difficult to sign Amadou Onana after Everton learnt that they will be given back four points, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The Spanish news outlet reported on 26 February that the in-demand Belgium international is worth £40million to the club.
Arsenal are another side keen on securing the 21-year-old’s services, having been linked with him for months.
Will Amadou Onana leave Everton in the summer?
The Toffees face a challenging situation in convincing Onana to stay, particularly if Barcelona are seriously interested in signing him.
Despite Everton’s desire to retain him, Barcelona’s allure and the potential for a higher level of competition in La Liga could sway Onana’s decision.
Additionally, Barcelona’s interest indicates that the Belgium international may see an opportunity for greater visibility and potential success with the Catalan club.
However, Barcelona’s financial crisis presents a significant obstacle.
The club’s financial constraints limit their ability to meet Everton’s valuation of Onana, which stands at no less than £40million.
This discrepancy in valuation creates a dilemma for the La Liga giants, as they may struggle to secure the funds necessary to meet Blues’ demands while also addressing their own financial challenges.

That said, it would not harm anyone if conversations are on with Onana to stay at Goodison Park beyond the end of the season.
