Everton: Rob Edwards shares instant Luton Town reaction to Goodison Park appeal outcome
Luton Town manager Rob Edwards has shared an instant reaction to Everton having their 10-point deduction reduced to six points.
The Toffees have moved from 17th to 15th in the Premier League table after their punishment was reduced following an appeal.
The Hatters currently occupy 18th place in the table, and are now five points behind the Goodison Park club.
“We can’t control that [a potential further deduction for Everton for the second charge, or similar six-point penalty for Nottingham Forest],” said Edwards, as quoted by Sky Sports. “We can’t bank on that or use it.
“These are difficult questions, I’ve not experienced this before. It’s hypothetical. We’ve got to concentrate on ourselves.”
Everton open up gap on Luton Town
Luton had been keeping the Toffees in their sights amid a tense relegation battle, but the latter have now opened up a significant gap following their successful appeal.
The Hatters, who have struggled in the top flight since their promotion from the Championship, have 20 points from their 25 matches so far.
Everton have now moved to 25 points from their 26 matches, with Luton able to close that gap given how they have a game in hand.
Edwards is not, however, focusing on the Goodison Park club, which is certainly the way to approach matters.
He is also smart to avoid concentrating on Nottingham Forest, who joined the Toffees in being handed a Premier League charge for breaching financial rules earlier this month.

It remains to be seen what the final outcome of those charges will be, but for now Everton fans can rejoice over the reduction regarding their initial charge from earlier in the season.
