Everton: Brentford ace Christian Norgaard rages at appeal outcome as relegation prediction made
Brentford captain Christian Norgaard has raged after Everton had their 10-point deduction reduced to six points.
The Bees dropped a place in the Premier League table after the Toffees were successful in their appeal for financial breaches.
The Goodison Park club moved from 17th to 15th place in the standings, pushing Thomas Frank’s side to 16th.
“It’s hard for me to comment on these deductions,” Norgaard said after Brentford lost to West Ham on Monday (26 February), as quoted by BBC Sport.
“Somewhere someone is sitting with a calculator, putting in points, taking away points. It’s people’s jobs, people’s lives they’re messing with.
“I don’t know what is going on. We have to focus on us and not on Everton. I’m sure we will improve and I’m sure we will find ourselves safe in the Premier League when it’s all said and done.”
Brentford star Christian Norgaard unhappy with Everton appeal verdict
Unsurprisingly, Bees captain Norgaard has reacted negatively to the decision to hand the Toffees four points back.
It was great news for the Goodison Park club, but bad news for the clubs in and around them who are involved in a Premier League relegation battle.
Brentford did, however, have an immediate chance to overtake the Toffees in the standings when they made the trip to the London Stadium on Monday, with that game taking place right after the appeal outcome.
But the West London side blew that chance, with Hammers star Jarrod Bowen netting a hat-trick in a 4-2 win for the hosts.
Frank’s side are level with Sean Dyche’s men on 25 points, but the Merseyside outfit boast a better goal difference at this stage of the campaign.

It is now Everton’s turn to take on David Moyes’s side up next, with the Bees aiming to rise the standings when they take on Chelsea, with both matches taking place on Saturday (2 March).
