Everton: Jeff Stelling shares ‘worse’ second points deduction verdict live on talkSPORT
Jeff Stelling has questioned how the Premier League took so long to come to their verdict over the Everton points deduction appeal, with the worst yet to come.
The legendary broadcaster shared that, with a second charge now looming, that verdict may not be heard until after the end of the season as he blasted the “shambolic” decision-making.
Stelling continued his rant, insisting that both Everton and Nottingham Forest will appeal the new decisions when they are made, criticising the organisation of the Premier League.
Speaking live on talkSPORT [27 February, 06:25], Stelling ranted: “I thought four was the maximum they would get and it might even have been less than that. My problem with all of this is that it’s taken four months.
“Four months to go through the whole process, how can they take that long? Worse, of course, is with their other charges, and those against Forest.
“The chances are if they appeal, and my word they are going to appeal because we’ve seen what happens, then the outcome of those appeals won’t be made known until after the end of the season which is as shambolic as it gets.”
When will Everton be given their second PSR charge?
Everton may not hear the ultimate result of their second profit and sustainability charge until after the final game of the season, leaving the ongoing relegation battle up in the air and totally in the hands of the Premier League.
It had previously been suggested that the outcome of the original appeal would prove crucial to that of the second charge, and another points deduction would make the threat of relegation even more of a reality at Goodison Park.
Simon Jordan speculated that the club may receive an even bigger punishment as a result of their second charge, comparing the situation to committing the same crime having just recently been let out of prison.

After the club saw their ten-point deduction reduced to six as a result of their appeal, the focus has turned to the second charge which will now fill the space left by the previous decision in causing further concern at Goodison Park.
