Everton transfer news as Ben Jacobs shares Tottenham Hotspur stance on James Garner
Tottenham Hotspur “appreciate” Everton midfielder James Garner, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.
The 22-year-old has made 32 appearances for the Goodison Park club in all competitions this season, scoring two goals.
Jacobs has, however, noted that the North London club are more likely to target Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher.
“Tottenham appreciate the player, but there’s nothing advanced at this stage,” Jacobs told GIVEMESPORT (26 February). “Conor Gallagher is perhaps the more likely target.”
Will Tottenham plot move for Everton ace James Garner?
Garner hasn’t always been a regular at Goodison Park following his switch from Premier League rivals Manchester United, but that has changed this season.
The youngster is a firm favourite under Sean Dyche, with Garner playing a key role in midfield alongside the likes of Amadou Onana and Idrissa Gueye.
His tackling, dribbling and passing have helped the Toffees pick up some vital points throughout the season, while his versatility has also helped Dyche out in times of desperation.
It would definitely be a massive loss should Tottenham look to bring the midfielder to North London, but at the same time a big-money Goodison exit could really help Everton’s financial issues.
Such issues have been well-documented in recent times, with their troubles behind the scenes leading to a 10-point deduction in the Premier League.

That deduction has since been reduced to six points, but even with that boost, the Merseyside club remain in a relegation battle.
In other Everton news, Sky Sports journalist Alan Myers has issued a points deduction claim as appeal news emerges at the Goodison Park club.
