Everton: Kevin Thelwell could make Toffees millions after Jarrad Branthwaite intervention
Kevin Thelwell could end up landing Everton their biggest ever transfer fee after his Jarrad Branthwaite intervention.
According to the Liverpool Echo [1 March], director of football Thelwell renegotiated the terms of Branthwaite’s loan deal at PSV last season.
The plan was to give the young centre-back more exposure at first-team level in order to propel his journey into the Everton first team.
Even Thelwell has surely been surprised about just how quickly Branthwaite has gone about becoming a regular for the Toffees at the back.
Not only that, he has arguably been Sean Dyche’s more reliable performer, even more so now that he has added a goal threat to his game.
England call-up likely for Jarrad Branthwaite
From starting the season as a back-up, Branthwaite’s chance soon arrived and he is now on the verge of a senior England international call-up.
There have also been links with Manchester United and Real Madrid, but both teams know they will not land the 21-year-old for cheap.

Indeed, the £75million Everton landed from United for Romelu Lukaku in July 2017 will surely have to be topped for Branthwaite to leave.
Had Thelwell not intervened and effectively fast-tracked Branthwaite’s development, it may not have panned out this way.
No Everton fan will want to see the talented defender leave anytime soon, of course, but once he does, it will land the club a hefty sum of money. Thelwell deserves praise for his part in that.
