Everton: ‘Jackpot’ needed at Goodison Park as second case creeps up

Everton would love to hit the jackpot in securing all three points from a Premier League win ahead of their second charge of profit and sustainability breaches, according to Joe Bernstein.

The Daily Mail journalist insisted on 4 March that, with the Goodison Park club now on a ten-game winless run, and the prospect of a further points deduction, they need to take three points soon.

A win against the Hammers would have been the perfect end to the week for Everton after winning four points back from their initial ten-point deduction, but they failed to make their chances count.

Everton need to start picking up points amid points deduction fear

The threat of a second points deduction at Goodison Park is becoming more daunting by the day, and while Sean Dyche’s men continue to fail to take three points from the game, concerns are rising.

Nottingham Forest, who currently sit one point below Everton, are also facing a possible penalty for the same charge, with the outcomes of both cases potentially remaining unknown until beyond the end of the season.

We are now edging towards a situation where the Premier League relegation battle could be decided by points deductions rather than on the pitch – something which has angered many including Jeff Stelling in recent weeks.

Everton boss Sean Dyche
Sean Dyche’s Everton side have faced plenty of challenges both on and off the pitch this season.

If Everton continue on this winless run, they could wind up right back in the relegation battle regardless of their points deductions. An inability to find the net consistently is a concern for Dyche and will need fixing soon.
