Everton preparing to lose Jarrad Branthwaite in transfer window amid Manchester United interest

Everton are preparing to lose first-team star Jarrad Branthwaite in the summer transfer window amid interest from Manchester United, according to The Mirror.

Writing on their website (5 March), the news outlet report that the Red Devils are keen on the 21-year-old centre-back who has shone under Sean Dyche this season.

And the Toffees are now preparing for his exit amid their financial problems this summer, with Hull City ace Jacob Greaves lined up as a potential replacement.

“Everton are preparing to lose Jarrad Branthwaite in this summer’s transfer window, with Manchester United tracking the Englishman following his impressive displays for the Toffees,” they wrote.

Everton facing horrible summer transfer window

There are going to be a host of Blues fans who spend the entire summer transfer window biting their nails and hoping that no news means good news.

Onana and Branthwaite are the clear big assets that the club have and could be sold to help ease the financial burden on the club, but if they are able to avoid relegation this season then they will need to be replaced adequately to move away from another relegation battle next season.

If the team are playing Championship football then an exodus of players is surely almost certain, and a major rebuild will be necessary to get back to the top flight as soon as possible.

But until the club know if it’s 777 Partners in charge of the club or someone else, planning for the summer has to sit on the shelf and it’s just not sustainable as the club get closer to the end of the season.

It’s going to be incredibly difficult to keep Branthwaite at the club with the amount of interest in him, but at least the club are preparing for it so they’re not left cold should it happen quickly.
