Everton: Transfer competition expected for EFL ace Jacob Greaves as Hull City chief shares update

Everton-linked Jacob Greaves is expected to attract plenty of “interest” from elsewhere, according to Hull City’s vice-chairman Tan Kesler.

The Tigers are likely to face a battle to keep hold of the highly-rated centre-back this summer.

Greaves, 23, has risen up through the academy ranks at the MKM Stadium and has become one of the club’s most prized assets.

A report by The Mirror (4 March) claims the Toffees have identified him as a potential target for the next transfer window.

Kesler has already provided an update on Hull’s position in an interview with BBC Humberside Sport: (4 March): “Jacob is our player. Whether there is an offer on the table or not, we don’t care.

“He is performing unbelievably. He should get offers, he should get interest. At the same time, I want boys to stay focused on the promotion run until the end of the season.”

Everton target Jacob Greaves likely to be a man in-demand at Hull City

Greaves would be an ideal signing for Everton at the end of this season. He is young, has potential to grow and develop in the future and has proved himself in Yorkshire in the Football League.

The defender has played over 200 games already in his career and has helped Hull rise to 6th in the table this term under the guidance of Liam Rosenior as they eye promotion to the Premier League.

He is under contract with his local team until June 2026 meaning they are under no pressure to cash in on him anytime soon.

The Tigers can hold out for a decent fee from Everton, if Sean Dyche’s side are to make an offer for him, and they will be eager to get as much money for him as possible.

Greaves is also left-footed which is a useful attribute to have as a central defender. He has never played in the top flight so it may take him a while to adapt to life in the division above.
