Everton: 777 Partners sources speak out as ‘genuine alternative’ takeover update drops

Everton have a “genuine alternative” to 777 Partners amid takeover talks, although sources claim any move to look elsewhere would breach their agreement, according to the Liverpool Echo.

The newspaper reported via their website on 6 March that, while the precise details of 777’s deal with Farhad Moshiri are not public, sources told them looking elsewhere is not an option.

Their sources also insisted that, with the takeover only awaiting regulatory approval from the Premier League, there should be no need to search for an alternative bidder.

Will 777 Partners complete their takeover of Everton?

Earlier this week, The Esk posed a question to Moshiri about why he will not consider alternative options to the 777 bid despite the concern surrounding their position away from the club – this source has appeared to answer the question.

If alternatives cannot be considered through the risk of breaching their current deal, and the potential legal issues that would come along with that, the current owner at Goodison Park may have had his hands tied.

There has been plenty of criticism and concern raised surrounding the potential 777 deal, which appears to be shared by the Premier League given the length of time taken to give their decision on whether to approve the takeover, with new concerns emerging almost every day.

Dan Friedkin has succeeded where Josh Wander and 777 failed at Everton.

Another figure who has been particularly critical of the potential takeover is Simon Jordan, who has questioned 777 and their motives behind the deal, having previously claimed Everton fans should be very worried about the possibility of the takeover going through.
