Everton: BBC Sport pundit makes relegation claim live on air after what happened to Luton Town
Everton are in danger of being relegated from the Premier League because they are not scoring goals.
That is according to BBC Sport pundit Rachel Brown-Finnis, with the former England women’s goalkeeper sharing the verdict after Luton Town drew with Crystal Palace.
Cauley Woodrow netted a 96th-minute equaliser for the Hatters in their 1-1 draw with the Eagles on Saturday (9 March).
When asked if Luton can survive the drop this season on BBC Final Score (9 March), Brown-Finnis said: “I think yes. Above Sheffield United, Burnley and potentially even Nottingham Forest and Everton, they’re scoring goals. Forest and Everton are not scoring goals.”
Will Everton suffer relegation from the Premier League this season?
The Toffees have been flirting with relegation to the Championship for the past few seasons, but they have constantly managed to avoid the drop.
But yet again they are involved in a scrap at the bottom, with the Toffees currently sitting in 16th place in the table.
They remain in danger of the drop following their 2-0 loss to Manchester United on Saturday, with Everton just four points off the bottom three.
Sean Dyche’s side currently have 25 points to their name, but could of course lose some of that tally given their ongoing Premier League charge.
Nottingham Forest are one point and one place below them, with Luton in 18th with 21 points, although both of those clubs have a game in hand over the Toffees.

It looks certain to come down to just one relegation spot between those sides, with Sheffield United and Burnley well off the pace and heading for the drop, as they sit in 19th and 20th place respectively.
