Everton: Manchester United want to sign Jarrad Branthwaite amid Erik ten Hag sack update

Manchester United want to sign Everton star Jarrad Branthwaite this summer, even if Erik ten Hag is sacked amid uncertainty, according to the Mirror.

The newspaper reported via their website on 11 March that Sir Jim Ratcliffe is keen to invest in young homegrown talents regardless of who the manager is.

Branthwaite has been listed as one of the most sought-after young defenders in Europe with Real Madrid also said to be monitoring his progress at Goodison Park.

Will Jarrad Branthwaite leave Everton this summer?

Given the financial situation at Goodison Park, it feels almost inevitable that one of their key players will have to be sold, and with a reported £75million price tag on Branthwaite, he could be the one the club looks to take a profit from.

Newcastle United have also been linked with a potential move to sign the 21-year-old after their scouts were spotted at Old Trafford during the 2-0 Premier League defeat, where the hosts surely would have also been keeping a close eye.

It has been previously reported that Branthwaite could go for as much as £100million, given the level of attention on his outstanding performances during his breakout season at Goodison Park, but the £75million mentioned by the Mirror seems a more realistic price.

Everton are willing to sell other players before letting go of Jarrad Branthwaite.

Amid high interest from across Europe, and Ratcliffe’s apparent determination to land his man regardless of other factors involved, there could be a bidding war for his services come the summer window.
