Everton: Newcastle scouts watch Amadou Onana and Jarrad Branthwaite at Old Trafford in transfer update
Newcastle scouts were in attendance to watch Amadou Onana and Jarrad Branthwaite as Everton fell to a 2-0 defeat against Manchester United at Old Trafford, according to the Liverpool Echo.
The newspaper shared via their website on 11 March that the duo, who have also been the subject of interest from Manchester United, are courting heavy interest from several clubs.
It is also said that the interest is set to intensify given the financial situation at Goodison Park, and they could find it difficult to turn down bids that come close to their valuation.
Could Amadou Onana and Jarrad Branthwaite leave Everton this summer?
Given their financial situation, it would not come as a shock to see either Branthwaite or Onana leave Goodison Park this summer, with their high valuations likely to be key to Everton’s income both towards profit and sustainability rules and their own summer spending.
It has been previously reported that Branthwaite could go for as much as £100million, given the level of attention on his outstanding performances during his breakout season at Goodison Park.
Onana, meanwhile, is expected to cost closer to £50million, which would see a strong profit made on the £34million fee paid to bring him to the club in the summer transfer window of 2022.

If both were to be sold amid the interest from Newcastle, Manchester United, Chelsea and many others across Europe, Everton could benefit hugely in the long term should they reinvest the money into smart new signings.
Kevin Thelwell recently discussed how he was looking to change the transfer policy at Goodison, and these key sales could be the starting point for the new direction.
