Everton: Phil McNulty shares Sean Dyche sack verdict, ‘very chequered’ 777 Partners claim made

Everton should stick with manager Sean Dyche for now, according to BBC Sport journalist Phil McNulty.

McNulty suggested that it is too late in the season to take any other decision, adding that the Toffees would find it difficult to find another manager.

The Goodison Park club currently sit 16th in the Premier League table, four points above the relegation zone.

“Who would even take such a decision?” (to sack Dyche) McNulty said in a BBC Sport Q&A. “Farhad Moshiri is still the owner but he is in the process of trying to sell the club to 777, who have a very chequered track record and are still awaiting Premier League approval.

“It is perfectly understandable that the Premier League are checking them very closely as their history in the sport is hardly convincing. As for Dyche, it has to be stick for now because really it’s too late to do anything else and who would Everton get anyway?”

Is Sean Dyche safe from the sack at Everton?

The Toffees have had a torrid time lately, with the Merseyside outfit really struggling to get wins on the board.

Fortunately, they can focus all of their energy on their Premier League survival given how they are out of all other competitions, but that has been the case since their FA Cup fourth round exit in January, and things haven’t been going well since then.

Dyche has done his utmost to keep spirits high at Goodison Park, but that has been a difficult job, particularly with all the off-field issues.

Not only is there a potential takeover, but the Merseyside club are also facing another points deduction, having already been deducted six points this season.

Sean Dyche is looking to keep Everton in the Premier League.

Time is running out for Dyche and his players to turn the situation around, although they are safe for now, with Nottingham Forest, Luton Town, Burnley and Sheffield United all below the Toffees in the table.
